🌊 San Marcos River Underwater Cleanup

Join us for our annual tradition! Whether you’re here to hunt for “river treasures” or just enjoy a relaxing drift dive, it’s going to be a great day on the water.

📍 Schedule & Logistics

• Meeting Point: Rio Vista Park (Parking Area) to gear up.
• Arrival Time: Please arrive early enough to be geared up by 1:00 PM.
• Entry Point: After gearing up, we will shuttle to the Aquarena Springs Drive bridge.
• The Dive: A group photo will be taken at the entry point. We will then enjoy a 1-mile drift dive, exiting back at Rio Vista Park.
• Duration: Expect to be underwater for 45–90 minutes, depending on your pace and trash collection.

✋ Volunteers Needed: We need a few volunteers to help shuttle divers from the exit back to the entry point. Please let Steve know if you can help!

🎒 What to Bring

• Mesh Bags: Bring a laundry bag or onion sack for trash collection. (Extra bags will be available if you forget yours).
• The Dive Style: This is a relaxing freshwater drift. Note that some sections may be shallow depending on water levels, but all are navigable.

🏆 Prizes & Fun

We will award 1st and 2nd place prizes for:

1. Most trash collected (by volume/weight).
2. Most unusual piece of trash (voted on by the group).

🍽️ Post-Dive Social

• Saturday Dinner: Join us at Ivar’s River Pub around 6.30pm
• Sunday Breakfast: A group breakfast at Herbert’s Taco Hut (Link).

🏨 Lodging & Extra Diving

• Accommodations: Check Booking.com or Airbnb for local rentals. Camping is also available nearby.
• Spring Lake Sunday Dive: If you are DAC or Scientific Diver certified, you can request a volunteer dive for Sunday through the Meadows Center Online System.
