Monthly meeting @ Bobbie’s Social House, Plano
(Way) Deep thinker, saturation diver and ROV pilot trainer takes us to the depths | ||
| Tired of the cold? Break out of your house and join fellow Scubadillos at our monthly meeting, Thursday, Feb. 5, at Bobbie’s Social House. It’s located at the southwest corner of Frankford Road and the Dallas North Tollway. We welcome back as our guest speaker Bob Curtis. He will talk about unusual dive locations such as a 500-foot deep dive in New York. Bob is a world-renowned international subsea simulation expert. He’s trained Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) pilots within the energy industry and military. Bob has been a rescue/recovery diver since the 70s, is a saturation diver and worked with various atmospheric diver suits (for example, Jim, Wasp, Mantis). He’s built a couple of his own submarines, and been involved with the ROV industry, primarily prototypes. In addition, he’s an expert in high-level simulation work for the subsea energy industry, including military- and NASA-related projects. Bob is a world-class triathlete and is passionate about aquatic rescue education globally. We’ll also welcome our 2026 Scubadillo Dive Club Board Members:
