What’s it like to become a commercial diver?

Join us for our monthly Scubadillo Dive Club meeting Thursday, Feb. 6
Our guest speaker will be Mark Allen, part owner and lead instructor for Professional Diver Training Center (PDTC) in Alvarado.
The training facility teaches students to become commercial divers. Students learn about underwater tools, the medicine and physics of diving, hyperbaric chamber operation, API rigging, underwater welding, cutting and burning along with other needed skills to obtain their ADCI entry level Tender/Diver card. Students can be employed anywhere in the United States in both inland diving and the offshore diving industries.
Mark will provide additional details about PDTC, as well as commercial diving in general, including a discussion about deep-sea diving equipment and the work that is performed. He’ll have some equipment and tools used in this activity.

Meeting details
Our meeting begins at 7 p.m. If your schedule permits, please come for the social/dinner hour around 6 p.m. Get there a little earlier to take advantage of BJ’s happy hour on food and drinks. HH ends at 6 p.m.
