The partying pineapples are back! They’re having FUN at a Luau – which is exactly what you’ll be doing when you join us June 3rd for fun and games, laughter, sunshine, camaraderie, a silent auction, prizes, and FOOD! This is our annual fundraiser event, and we appreciate your support.
Diving you ask? Of course, you can dive, but it’s not required.
This annual funfest – a combo Scubadillo and Diving Rebels event – is a day to get out of the house, enjoy some games in the water and on land, eat, party, and hang with your favorite fun divers. You can also pick up some great dive and non-dive items from the silent auction.

WHERE
Wheeler Branch Reservoir Park in Glen Rose. This scenic lake park is the ideal venue for swimming, diving, dry land games and cooling water games (for prizes!), a raffle — and of course our Luau feast. We’ll be at the pavilion. Look for the bright yellow Scubadillo banners. (Find additional location details at the bottom)

TICKET PRICE and REGISTRATION (please sign up on the link below)
Remember, this is a fundraiser, so everyone pays the same – member or not. Please purchase your online tickets by end of day Wednesday, May 31, $10.30 per person. (https://scubadillos.org/luau) You can also pay $10 per person, cash or CC, at our June 1 meeting at On The Border. We need a good headcount in advance so we’ll have plenty of food and picnic supplies for everyone. Ticket price goes up to $15 starting June 1 (including “at the door” on the day of the event).
No membership required. We want to see your friends, too… bring the whole gang! There’s plenty to do, including swimming and hiking.

PARK FEE
Park entrance fee is $10 per person. Cash only. (This is separate from the Luau ticket and has nothing to do with us.) Overnight camping is not allowed. Pets are allowed — must be on a short leash.

WHAT TO BRING
Folding chairs
Beverage of choice (be discreet if you have adult bevs)
Side dish to share during Luau. [Please add your dish to this (list).
Swimsuits and dive gear, towels (optional) Note: Nice bathrooms are nearby
Water shoes for games near or in the shallow water
Feel free to bring your own Frisbees and other toys to play with during the day
Afternoon munchies to tide you over, if needed
Cash or CC for raffle and silent auction

DIVING (11 a.m. or before)
Come early if you want to dive. There’s a dive platform, a sunken bus, helicopter, and fish! Might be chilly; 3-5 mil suit recommended. Expect low 70s on the surface at this time of year. Thermocline is around 20′ (but the water gets clearer!) Bring proper hoods, gloves and lights. Diving is first (for those who want to dive), then food, games/prizes, raffle, silent auction will be in the afternoon.

CHOW DOWN! (1 p.m.)
The Luau Feast is a big part of the day. Dillos will provide the main course, water and all the fixins’. We ask y’all to bring a side dish to share. IMPORTANT: Visible alcoholic beverages are not allowed at the park (like most park rules), so remember to bring appropriate beverage containers for your favorite drink.

RAFFLE
Bring plenty of cash (or use your CC) for the raffle to win great prizes.

SILENT AUCTION (runs all day; final bids approx 5 p.m.)
Dive and non- dive-related items will be featured. These are items we’ve purchased or have been donated to the Dillos over the past year. If you have something to donate, please try to bring it early so we can get it displayed on the table ready for bidding (and THANK YOU in advance!) Or you can bring it to the May 12 meeting. Winners can pay with cash or CC. All proceed will go to the club of your choosing (Dillos or Rebels)

LET THE GAMES BEGIN! (2:30 p.m.)
We’ll start the games right after the feast – around 2:30. Horseshoes, batting, water balloon toss and water cup toss, along with water cannons and water bucket competitions are planned. (Yes, be prepared to get a little bit wet!) Prizes awarded to the winning teams!

Remember…. it’s a Luau! Feel free to dress up in your favorite tropical attire. And remember, like always, we’ll have a big group-photo at the end of the day.
