Scubadillo Chili Cook Off

Cost: The event is FREE for Scubadillo members, $10 per guest. If you’re not yet a member, no worries. Pro-rated memberships for the rest of the year are available at $25 SINGLE or $40 FAMILY. (This ensures your free entry at our Christmas party, too.) You can join using our online form: ).

Here’s your chance to show off your chili skills.

What, you’re not a chef? No worries. Just come to eat, drink, laugh, judge, share dive stories. You know… the stuff we usually do when the Scubadillos get together. And yes, we typically add diving to the mix. But it’s cold out there! Diving will resume in 2022.

FYI: this yummy cook-off will double as our monthly happy hour.

If you didn’t sign up at the meeting, please let us know if you: (1) plan to come, (2) you’ll bring chili, or (3) you’ll bring a side dish, (i.e. corn bread, chips, veggies, dessert). Don’t fret if you can’t bring food. Just come with your happy face and hungry belly.

We’ll have the water. Please bring a reusable drinking glass. Let’s all try to consume less plastic and help keep our oceans clean. *smile* Aside from water, BYO bevs, coolers and lawn chairs.

We’re doing this at Larry and Pam’s house,( OUTSIDE). – LMK Ranch – in Princeton, 9195 Lakeridge Drive. Might be a bit of a jaunt for some of you, but it’ll worth it! Lots of room, plenty of electrical outlets, overhead cover, Plus, we can build a campfire to stay toasty warm. There’s plenty of parking. Please park on Lakeridge Drive so we don’t unintentionally tear up their lawn. (Thank you!) It’s a football-field hike. Y’all can do this. 😉

IMPORTANT NOTE re: nav to the location. Do not turn on County Road 728. You’ll end up in the back of the pasture. Lakeridge Drive is one block East of 728.

Physical distance and safe practices are encouraged. Use your common sense. WE WILL BE OUTSIDE. Bring a chair.
Also at sign-in, attendees must read and agree to a disclaimer that neither Scubadillos dive club will be held responsible for any COVID-19 exposure.
Sanitation stations with cleansers and wipes will be available.

Contestants: Your chili must be pre-cooked and in a crock pot. Arrive early (1-1:30) to ensure your chili gets thoroughly warmed up by judging time.
Timing: The event is 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. JUDGING starts at 3 p.m.
Everyone: be prepared to taste-test all the varieties. All attendees will have a say in voting for BEST Chili. And that’s why we’ll have plenty of water on hand for you to cleanse the palate as needed. 😉
Prizes: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be awarded for best chili.
