Our guest speaker at this month’s Scubadillo Meeting tomorrow (Nov. 7) will show us a different side of scuba diving. Something interesting, exciting, sometimes strange and eye-opening. Maybe a bit sad at times.
Have we piqued your interest?
Kyle Omberg, owner of Fire Fight Underwater Recovery, will share his team’s experience assisting law enforcement professionals in recovering vehicles, criminal evidence and accident victims from underwater environments. Among other activities, Kyle and his team manage training programs for major vehicle recovery work and Public Safety Diver programs
So, what does that have to do with the helicopter in the photo above? We thought you’d ask.
Kyle will also explain how his team installed two helicopter dive sites at Wheeler Branch Reservoir Park in Glen Rose. Check out more photos on his Facebook page.
In addition to recreational dive classes, Kyle teaches a number of specialties, including underwater communications systems, dry suit diving in contaminated water, underwater crime scene photography and documentation, underwater evidence removal, vehicle recovery, human remains recovery, hull inspection, and PADI Public Safety Diver certification. Cool, huh? 🙂
Join us tomorrow night at On The Border on Beltline near Addison Road. Our popular social hour starts 6 – 6:15 p.m. The official meeting kicks off at 7:15.
IMPORTANT: Your Dillo board members are busy planning the upcoming Chili-Dillo Cookoff (Nov. 23) AND our annual Christmas Party (Dec. 14). We’ll discuss details prior to Kyle’s presentation. Please be ready to chime in, make suggestions, help out, participate… We love our volunteers!
