Hang out with the Dillos in-person or online
Please join us for our monthly in-person Scubadillo meeting, Thursday, Dec. 2, at On the Border in Addison. We’ll host a Zoom option, too — details below.
Dillo member Rich Todd will share his recent adventures in Iceland.
From an erupting volcano to ice caves, icebergs and touching two continents at the same time, Iceland offers quite the experience for divers and non-divers. Rich will present some great photos of his recent trip and talk about diving Silfra.
Silfra is a fissure between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates in Thingvellir National Park. The rift was formed in 1789 by the earthquakes accompanying the divergent movement of the two tectonic plates. The diving and snorkeling site at Silfra is right where the two continents meet and drift apart about 2 cm per year.
It’s a fascinating presentation not to be missed.
