UNDERWATER Scubadillo Poker Run
August 28, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Come on out Saturday 8/28 to the Scubadillo Dive Club’s annual Poker Run event where dive-buddy contestants compete to have the best five-card poker hand from our underwater “playing table.”
Where
Wheeler Branch Park in Glen Rose, just take I-35 south of Dallas and then take Hwy. 67 to Glen Rose. In Glen Rose, take Bo Gibbs Boulevard and turn north on County Road 301. At “Y” intersection veer left on CR 326 and follow to park entrance. Look for the Scubadillos bright yellow banners.
Park fee
Park entrance fee is $10 per person. Cash only. Place park fee into the drop box at the entrance. No change given. Overnight camping is not allowed. Pets are allowed in the park, but must be on a short leash (6 ft. or less) and you have to pick up any deposits. You’ll find nice, clean bathrooms on site.
Food
We will fire up the grill around Noon and the club will supply the main course and the “fixins,” plus a cooler of water for lunch. Please bring a side dish to share and since we have the grill going, then bring something for yourself to cook if you like. FREE to members. $10 non-members or become a member (there are other activities till the end of year)
Event
After lunch, the “playing field” will be laid out at about 20’+- with two decks of special plastic-coated cards (one red, one blue) on lines with clips attaching the cards. Each buddy team will be allowed to collect a maximum of five cards at one time, but you will have 45 minutes to “improve” your hand as you take and replace cards to create the winning standard poker hands (flushes, straights, four-of-a-kind, full houses, etc.). Great prizes will be given out to the top poker hands presented at the end of the time period. You do not have to have a buddy to come. We will buddy you up if you do not have one.
