Ouachita Labor Day dive trip in Arkansas
August 30, 2014 @ 8:00 am
Our annual Ouachita Trip is coming up on Labor Day weekend. Lake Ouachita is a beautiful clear lake just above Hot Springs Arkansas. Every Labor day we plan a trip to Lake Ouachita, stay at Echo Canyon and rent a barge (yes it has a bathroom) for 2 days (Aug 30 & Sept. 31) to dive, swim and eat. The boat can hold 20 divers. There are several diving locations on the lake. Our favorite is Zebra Rock where you can treasure hunt for quartz crystals. We will also be pearl hunting. The water is cool. The visibility varies from 10-25 ft. We leave the dock around 8:30am and arrive back at 5:00pm. Some people like to go into town and others hang out around the camp fire. The cost, for both days,is about $40per person or less depending upon number of people, which pays for the boat, fuel, oil, ice and water. The club is furnishing the balance of the cost of the boat. At this time Echo Canyon (501)[masked] RV camp sites and 2 tent sites available. There are other places to stay. Sense the club is funding half the boat expense this is for members. Membership is available for $20 in lieu of $35. Go to scubadillos.info for pictures from last year and more club information. Make your plans know. It will fill up.
