Monthly meeting – Shore Diving 101
February 6, 2020 @ 6:15 pm - 9:00 pm
What to Consider when Diving the Shore
It should be simple, but there are quite a few do’s and don’ts.
Shore diving. No boat. No hassles. Easy stuff and a no-brainer, right?
Yes, shore diving is seemingly simple and convenient, but there’s a boat-load to consider when it comes to your safety and enjoyment.
Please join us for the next Scubadillo meeting, Thursday, Feb. 6 at On the Border in Addison. Dillo members Nicole and Walter Huff will present a fun and interesting program on Shore Diving 101. They’ll review essential – and sometimes overlooked – information on salt-water shore diving and beach entry, including how-to’s, where-to’s, and plenty of need-to-know safety considerations.
Nicole and Walter are avid divers and travel enthusiasts. Walter was first certified in 1984, but life got in the way during those early years. Let’s just say he’s been actively diving since 1998. Nicole obtained her first certification after she also “obtained” Walter in 2004. 😉
They have basic, advanced, rescue and nitrox certifications, most of which they earned in Monterey Bay, California. In addition to diving the California Coast, these buddies have traveled to numerous international dive destinations in seven countries.
In fact, Walter and Nicole have such a passion for talkin’ scuba & travel, they launched a travel agency last year: Aqua Zen Travel (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Our meeting begins promptly at 7:15 p.m. If your schedule permits, please come for the social/dinner hour around 6 p.m.
P.S.: The annual Diving Rebels fundraiser, “Arctic Dive/Wine & Cheese Contest” will take place Feb. 29 at Lake Murray in Oklahoma. FYI: the Dillos partner with the Rebels for this weekend of fellowship and fun! We’ll briefly talk about it at the meeting, answer questions and we’ll have the $10 tickets available for cash purchase. Look for additional details in a February email, as well as Meetup and Facebook.
