Lake Ouachita Labor Day dive trip in Arkansas FUN FUN FUN

September 3, 2016 @ 8:00 am

Our annual Ouachita Trip is coming up on Labor Day weekend. Lake Ouachita is a beautiful clear lake just above Hot Springs Arkansas. Every Labor day we plan a trip to Lake Ouachita, stay at Echo Canyon and rent a barge for 2 days (Sept3& Sept. 4) to dive, swim and eat. This year we are renting 2-29’pontoon boats with an upper deck.. There are several diving locations on the lake. Our favorite is Zebra Rock where you can treasure hunt for quartz crystals. We will also be pearl hunting. The water is cool. The visibility varies from 10-25 ft. We leave the dock around 8:30am and arrive back at 5:00pm. Some people like to go into town and others hang out around the camp fire.

The cost, for both days,is $100per personwhich pays for the boat, fuel, oil, ice, water and slip rental. The club is furnishing the balance of the cost of the boat. This yearyou will need to pay in advance for a spot on the boat. We will be limited on the number of divers and non divers on the boats. We are looking at 14 divers and 8 non-divers max. We will also have a waiting list. First come first serve.

At this time Echo Canyon (501)[masked]hasno cabins for rent. But at this time I have an extra3 bedroom cabin reserved. If interested you need to contact me to change the name and deposit.First come first serve. There are other places to stay. There are trailer sites at echo canyon but no tent sites. The best tents sites are atOuachita state park[masked]. It is about 20 min away from Echo Canyon. There are also camp sitesat the baseBlakely Dam called http://www.arkansasstripers.com/lake-ouachita-camping.htmSense the club is funding part of the boat expense thisouting isfor members.Be sure you are a member.Go to scubadillos.info for pictures from last year and more club information. Make your plans now. It will fill up.

We will up date you on any changes and cabin spots available.

Update: All cabins are full. If you would like to camp there is availability at Brady Mountain or state park or motel at the bottom of the mountain going to Echo Canyon.

Look at last years pictures to see what you may be missing.
